Net Media Lab is a Laboratory that Researches, Develops and provides Services. The Laboratory began its operation at the beginning of the 1990’s in the framework of the N.C.S.R. “D” Computer Centre. In 1996, it was included in the Services Provision Laboratories and was financed by the General Secretariat of Research and Technology.

Its activities span the areas of Research, Planning, Development and Operation of telecommunication services, the Internet and multimedia services, with the identity of e-services such as e-learning, e-education, e-inclusion, e-psychology, e-environment, e-commerce, e-business, e-procurement, e-testing, etc.

The main aims of the Lab’s activities are to Research, Develop and Educate. The target groups of these activities are citizens, people and students with disabilities and learning disabilities, as well as other disadvantaged groups.

As a result, our activities bridge the technology gaps, the educational gaps, the vocational training gaps, the self-knowledge and soft skills gaps, and improve the equal inclusion and participation of the aforementioned groups in the education procedure, in the vocational absorption procedure and finally, foster the equal participation in the society.

The laboratory is fully equipped with both hardware and software standards with powerful network, computer, multimedia and communications infrastructure, that support and cover the needs of the laboratory’s activities.

The laboratory’s workforce is specialized in the research, design, development, operation and education – training of communications, networks and multimedia as well as in electronic services (e-services) and covers the entire educational spectrum level (researchers, doctors, M.Sc. and support technicians).
