Net Media Lab organised the Multiplier Event of the MeLDE Erasmus+ Project

Net Media Lab organized the Multiplier Event of the Erasmus+ Project MeLDE: Media Literacy in the Digitalised Era: Supporting Teachers Through a Whole-School Approach, which took place online on Wednesday 7 July 2021 via Zoom, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the limitations imposed by it in Greece. A strong audience of over 120 people attended the event, which was entitled: “Media Literacy and 21st Century Skills at the Service of Teachers and their Integration in Education Curricula” and lasted 2,5 hours.

In the first part, Dr. Dimitris Kyriazanos, Education Manager of the Institute of Informatics & Telecommunications of N.C.S.R. “Demokritos”, opened and welcomed the event and gave a short speech about educational activities at Demokritos. Dr. Athanasios Drigas, Research Director at N.C.S.R. “Demokritos” presented the Research Center to the audience together with the activities of his laboratory. He then presented an overview of the MeLDE project before all four (4) Intellectual Outputs, results and activities, were presented in detail by members of Demokritos.

After the presentation of the project and its results, which was the main aim of the event, the second part was devoted to a discussion on “The Need and Ways of Integrating Media Literacy and 21st Century Skills in Secondary Education Curricula”, which was moderated by Dr. Athanasios Drigas with the participation of members of the audience who actively engaged in this discussion.
