On Tuesday, June 21st, 2022 the Online Conference Titled “STEM Education: Preparing Young People for a Changing World”, organized by the Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of Crete, took place online.
The event was addressed to education officials and teachers of Primary and Secondary Education. STEM education is an interdisciplinary approach that applies inquiry practices in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics subjects, enhancing students’ critical thinking. One science complements and supports the other and together they are all integrated into a coherent learning paradigm, based on real-world applications and authentic problem solving contributing to an integrated education. The training session aimed to inform the design and implementation of STEM education programs, engage the education community in dialogue, and prepare young people for an ever-changing world.
During the Conference, Dr. Athanasios Drigas, head of Net Media Lab of N.C.S.R. “Demokritos”, gave a speech titled “Industry 4.0, STEM, 21st Century Skills and Challenges in General and Special Education”.
